Sedona Arts Festival

Sometimes one can guess what month it is simply by the festivals and events that are occurring. For example, if the Sedona Arts Festival is taking place, it must be October, and you can count on enjoying cool fall nights, colorful leaves, and of course, the masterpieces of talented artists during your Arizona vacation and stay in our Sedona.Org seasonal sanctuaries. Offering an ever-changing display of more than 125 artists over two days, this serene festival reflects the magic of the red rocks that stand in the background, and this guide to the art, the talent, and all the reasons you will want to plan your visit to coincide with the Sedona AZ Art festival gives travelers a sneak peek at the talents of artisans that call Sedona their home.

Located at Sedona Red Rock High School, 995 Upper Red Rock Loop Road

Many festivals will only last a few hours of one day, but this colorful event needs two whole days to ensure that guests get to see all it has to offer! The Sedona Arts Festival is our town’s oldest and largest festival, celebrating art and the people who make it, with a goal of promoting awareness of the importance of art in the community and supporting the artists who make it. The first festival took place over 30 years ago, growing larger and more colorful every year since, and in that time, over $300,000 has been set aside for art programs and scholarships, so whether you are purchasing a painting to hang on the wall above your sofa at home or just pay the entry fee to check out all there is to see, your good times will be funding someone’s chance to make their dreams of becoming a professional artist come true.

All Genres

The great thing about art is all the forms it takes and most of the forms will be on display in this wonderful festival. Offering everything from watercolors to oil paintings, pottery to jewelry, and every type of artwork in between, the timing of the festival makes it a great way to get your Christmas shopping started early. Colorful clothing may grace the tables of this event and because a good wine is an artistic achievement, you may see some of Arizona’s best wine’s resting on those tables as well. It is almost impossible to take a bad picture in Sedona, but the photographers who display their works take the art to the next level, while candles, skin care products, even gourmet oils and teas may entice you to make these items your own, taking them home to serve as a souvenir of an Arizona adventure that you never want to forget. Also featuring live music, another form of art, and many of the performers may offer ways to buy the music you are listening to.

All This Art Is Making Us Hungry

After the art, our next favorite part of this fun festival is the food that will be for sale as well, and as you devour tacos and burgers and wash them down with soft and not so soft drinks, the beauty of the Sedona Art festival held in the shadow of the red rocks will burrow its way into your heart. The weather in Sedona in October is probably as perfect as it could be, adding yet another layer of wonder to an event we look forward to all year long. There is no better feeling than wandering through the field where the booths are set up, snacking on something delectable as the Sedona sun shines down on you without scorching your brains. The white canopies of each individual booth contrast against the green of the pine trees, and beyond that, the vibrant red of the rock formations that originally drew you to our doorstep; this festival provides color and style in so many ways.

Look Around

The beauty of our Sedona.Org retreats reflect the beauty of our town and also reflect the talent of many of the artists you may have purchased from today. That wood bowl sitting on the table, the photograph of Bell Rock at sunset hanging on the wall, even that metal sculpture you noticed resting in the gardens of our backyards—chances are those were purchased at one of the Sedona Art Festivals over the years. The colors on our walls reflect the colors of nature and the vibrancy of the artwork that contrasts so nicely, although the comfort found inside each of our sanctuaries is all Sedona.Org. Our passion is making people feel at home even as they are a long way away from their homes, and each space will welcome every guest with warmth and the artistic style we have picked up from local artists.
