When you are visiting a place you have never explored before, you want to be sure to experience everything the region has to offer, and that includes the house in which you choose to shelter. Sedona Red Rock Sanctuary provides a perfect example of Southwest living, its stuccoed exterior and red tile roof mimicking the beauty of its surrounding, giving it a style you may not be used to seeing in your own hometown. Tucked away in the shadow of the red rocks, seeming to rise out of the landscape like a phoenix rising from its ashes, your home for the next few days of your life will never let you down.
A long circular driveway made of pavers leads drivers up to a spacious two-car garage that offers refuge to a rental car, especially in the hotter days of summer. And although we could go inside from the garage, taking a walk around to the iron gate that welcomes all guests is how we will start this tour, ensuring you get the whole picture! A couple of cushioned wicker chairs sit out under the eaves of the front entry, providing a quiet place to soak in the beauty of your surroundings before walking through the wood door to begin the vacation of a lifetime. Inside, white walls provide a backdrop for colorful art and accessories and polished wood floors lead the way to the great room that will be the center of vacation activities.
The generously sized living room gives the eyes many places to land, as you peer over at a chenille-covered sectional, specifically placed to enjoy views of the Smart television hanging over the mantel of the stone fireplace and the wall of windows that lets in the views of the red rocks while keeping out the elements. A desk placed in front of one of those windows provides a perfect place to keep up with the action of the office, something that is easily done thanks to high-speed internet, but may also be easily distractible due to those soul inspiring views!
The kitchen of Sedona Red Rock Sanctuary takes center stage, providing warmly stained cabinets, marble countertops, high-end stainless steel appliances, and a wine chiller conveniently tucked away under the expansive center island. Kiddos, friends, and family will enjoy bellying up to the breakfast bar, chatting with the happy cook while remaining comfortably seated at the four cushioned barstools that punctuate the hominess of the space. One dining area, the spot where much fun and laughter will occur, is tucked away in a windowed corner just steps away from the kitchen, but during the nicer days, you may find yourself enjoying an alfresco dinner in the professionally landscape backyard where the secondary dining table is placed. Fenced in for your pooch’s safety and offering paved walking trails, a gas barbecue, and multiple patios, this outdoor area may actually be where you spend much of your time at home, especially when you begin to feel the peace and tranquility that emit from the red rocks that surround you.
