The trailhead can be accessed a mere one mile north of city center at the intersection of Route 179 and 89A. Devil’s Kitchen Sinkhole lies just off the right side of the trail and is a popular stop with tours and hikers as well. Soldier Pass Sedona Trail also plays host to the “Seven Sacred Pools” which are natural ponds sitting within the rock foundation and are extremely beautiful to admire. Following the main trail to the summit provides hikers with unsurpassed views of Sedona below. Take some time to take photographs, admire the setting and mix and mingle with fellow travelers who had the same idea. On the way up and back, keep your eyes peeled for a variety of gorgeous wildflowers that dot the path along with birds and other wildlife that call this area home.
