The Difference Is Clear
If you were to take a trip in the way back machine, visiting Sedona during the early 1900s, what is now known as the Uptown area would look far different than it does today. You would find orchards filled with all types of fruit trees, pastures in which horse and cattle would lazily graze, and homesteads in which hard working families resided, earning their living off the land, but still reveling in the magic of the red rocks. Today, Uptown Sedona is home to art galleries filled with pieces designed by talented local artists, crystal shops and souvenir shops in which tourists dip in and out with arms laden with purchases, and of course, our beautiful Sedona.Org vacation escapes. They don’t resemble the homesteads of history in any way, and if you don’t believe us, you can take a peek into history with a visit to the Sedona Heritage Museum, located at 735 Jordan Road in the heart of uptown. Explore the rugged charms of the spaces, examine the details of how much harder it was to live in these early days of Arizona’s history, and then come home to Sedona.Org and make the comparisons! Discover the importance our town played in the Wild West, learn how cowboys and ranchers settled the area, and check out all the changes that have happened in Sedona in a little over a century of habitation. You’ll have plenty of time to hike the trails to the red rocks, shop ‘til you drop, and explore the cultural side of Sedona during your stay, but these initial moments of discovery are all about our history!
Today
As we said earlier, today’s Sedona looks far different than yesterday, and our Uptown Sedona rentals offer the perfect example. Even the smallest of our properties (that are not so small) provide a classic elegance that will charm, and as you step inside, it will be simple to feel at ease and at home. Wood or tile floors create pathways that lead guests into rooms that are a far cry from the rustic spaces in the Sedona Heritage Museum, but floor-to-ceiling windows provide unobstructed views that remain largely unchanged and will more than likely become your newest obsession. It’s hard to take your eyes away from the red rocks and green trees, but when you sink into soft sofas, turn on gas fireplaces with the flick of a button, and grab a book off the shelves for a few hours, losing yourself in the magic of the words on the pages, you will know that you made the right decision to book with us! State-of-the-art televisions provide pictures so realistic, it will feel like you have courtside seats at the Suns games, helping you feel more comfortable as you relax.
The dining rooms of our uptown rentals could be considered the heart of the home, even as that is a title normally given to kitchens, but when you and your favorite traveling companions are gathered around the table that anchors the space, feeling cozy and comfortable while playing board games with your favorite fur children sniffing at your feet, (many of our Sedona escapes are open to the ENTIRE family, so travelers can make room for Fido during their vacation experiences!) and with music playing softly on sound systems that offer speakers throughout the house, you will again feel right at home! Most escapes feature open concept floor plans, allowing guests to stay connected as they do their own things, and our fully equipped kitchens will be just steps away, ensuring that those who are performing kitchen duties will never have to feel left out of the fun! Proving that a house located at creek’s edge doesn’t have to be rustic and cabin-like, the kitchens are sophisticated spaces filled with light, warmth, and chef quality appliances that will make amateur cooks feel like gourmet chefs.
Designer accents throughout will give each space a look of sophistication and style and may include a cushioned window seat that peers out over the Sedona landscape, natural wood beams that line the cathedral ceilings, and Southwest style artwork that very likely was made right here in town. Updated fixtures and deep soaking tubs in the bathrooms provide a luxury that stays quiet, and fully equipped laundry rooms offer the chance to shop ‘til you drop because you will have left plenty of room in your luggage for souvenirs, gifts, and memorabilia!
