Verde Canyon Railroad

The event takes place Saturday, April 16. Festivities at the depot start at 11:30 am, and the train departs the station promptly at 1 pm. Admission to the depot is free, and the train ride is $109/person.

Leave the car and the road behind. Many companies in and around Sedona offer horseback riding tours in the fashion of Arizona’s “Old West” heritage. Take off on a guided horseback ride and learn about the area’s flora and fauna, the mountains, and the history of the land. Bring your camera and capture the wonder of breathtaking panoramic views and thrilling terrain like the Verde Valley, Sedona Red Rocks, and other landmarks. You can even go as far as the San Francisco Peaks of Flagstaff.
Red Rock Scenic Byway
After seeing the sights while winding and weaving your way through the red rocks or on horseback, get in your rental car for a more direct route. You’ll want to plan several hours of your day for these ten short miles of sightseeing. The Red Rock Scenic Byway (SR-179) takes you on a short trip that can last all day. The byway itself is a short drive, but you can spend hours at the many scenic pull-off points along the route. Gaze out over the towering red rocks of Arizona’s beautiful Red Rock Country. Go during the day for spectacular views from every angle or take a sunset cruise for a unique added glow. While you’re out, don’t forget to stop by the Coconino National Forest visitor’s center for maps of hiking and biking trails you may want to check out along the way.
