Your Vacation in Sedona Will Shine Brighter

The sun is usually shining here in Arizona, but it is more than natural sunlight that will give your vacation that extra sparkle. Designed to make travelers feel comfortable and at home, every Sedona seasonal sanctuary we offer will bring you cheer. Step into living rooms that provide luxurious comfort that still makes you feel welcomed and wanted, containing sofas so soft that naps happen whether you thought you needed one or not, state-of-the-art televisions that may be smart ones, allowing guests to watch their favorite streaming shows, and of course, walls of windows that let in those stunning Sedona views. Seriously, those views will never fail to stun, and if you happen to be staying in one of our Oak Creek homes, the sounds that accompany rushing waters add charm to your vacation experience.

Maybe the home you chose for your summer vacation is a pet-friendly one, featuring a fenced-in backyard and the opportunity to show your appreciation for the uncompromising loyalty and love your beloved fur baby shows you. Sedona loves dogs almost as much as you do, and many local restaurants provide dog-friendly patios while many stores are happy to let your leashed dog join in the shopping fun. In the daytime, the sidewalks and streets may be too hot for tender paws, but if you forgot to pack some booties, PetSmart, Bow Wow Sedona, or Golden Bone Pet Products are sure to have the ones you need! (And you can bring your pup along for the trip!)

Summer days are hot days in red rock country, and a pool in the backyard will be most appreciated, as will hot tubs that warm and soothe tired and achy muscles on cool evenings when the sun falls behind the red rocks. Air conditioning and ceiling fans in nearly every room will be much appreciated in your summer escape, as highs can reach triple digits, but don’t be surprised when the mercury drops to the mid-70s once the sky darkens for the night. Sitting out on the back patio, deck, or balcony of your summer sanctuary will bring you peace and tranquility, and a beautiful way to calm down before heading back inside for a night filled with deep sleep and happy dreams. Fire pits can also be another way of ending your day in Sedona, providing warmth and the perfect spot to tell your favorite ghost stories, even if you aren’t traveling with kids! (Life is so much more beautiful when you retain the childish wonder of your youth!)

Spend Summer Days Exploring Sedona’s Natural Beauty

Sedona can still warm up quite a bit in the summer months, but tends to enjoy cooler temperatures compared to southern Arizona! You can still enjoy some of Sedona’s famous hiking, as long as you plan accordingly and pick trails that offer the most shade. Fay Canyon is a great choice for the summer, as it doesn’t have a steep elevation gain and is fairly shady—all without compromising on any views! West Fork Trail offers up incredible scenery and 13 creek crossings, as well as plenty of shade from the sun. Other great options include Boynton Canyon and Wilson Canyon. Plenty of companies in town offer guided tours of Sedona’s red rock wilderness, with Pink Jeep® Tours being one of the most popular—you can still see all the sights, but in style, comfort, and with a knowledgeable guide!

Hit All the Best Creek Spots

Sedona offers up plenty of amazing spots to enjoy beautiful creek waters amidst stunning red rock formations. The famed Slide Rock State Park is a popular spot, with a natural rock waterslide and swimming area in the lovely Oak Creek Canyon. Another popular spot is a swimming hole nicknamed “The Crack” that you can access from Bell Trail, but if you don’t want to make the journey or would like to avoid the crowds, you’ll find plenty of creekside space that you can stop at and swim along the hike. Grasshopper Point is another swimming area in Oak Creek Canyon and can sometimes be an alternative if Slide Rock is busy. Of course, if you drive up the canyon or are willing to explore a bit, you might find your own secret spot along the way!

Enjoy Sedona’s Summer Season

From restaurants that overlook the creek to outdoor art galleries, Sedona has it all for a relaxing escape from the city. Dining is excellent and diverse, and districts like Uptown offer plenty of boutique shopping for that next summer dress or a quintessential Arizona souvenir. The Tlaquepaque arts and shopping village boasts galleries of nearly every medium and beautiful architecture with fairytale-esque outdoor courtyards and fountains. For a magical sunset, take the drive up Airport Road and park at the top to marvel at the view!
