Sedona International Film Festival Rentals

A Little About the Festival

The Sedona International Film Festival got its start in 1995, offering a humble three-day celebration of Independent Films, their stars, and their directors, and featuring workshops that helped future stars and directors understand the craft. Approximately 30 films were shown in that first year, and in spite of its humble beginnings, there was a spark that erupted into a full-blown blaze, turning it into the exciting festival you will experience today. Hundreds of films are shown in a variety of categories, including documentaries, features, shorts, animation, and even foreign films. The workshops are plentiful, the tributes will make you laugh as they bring a tear to your eye, and every minute of the festival is a star-studded event that will make you fall in love with the magic of movies all over again. Tickets can be purchased on the Sedona International Film Festival website, and if you can’t make one of the days, virtual presentations will ensure you don’t miss out on a single film.

Comfort at Home with Sedona.org

Now that you have learned a little about the festival itself, it is time to explore the vacation houses to rent in Sedona that will be your home away from home, in between movies and workshops. Theater seats are rarely comfortable, although we are loving the new trend of movie theaters offering leather recliners; whatever the seats that you will sit in at the theaters of the film festival, it will still be a relief to come home to the comforts offered in our Sedona sanctuaries. The sofas in the living room are often topped with soft leather or chenille and offer plush depths that will quite possibly have you drifting off into a nap mid-viewing. The state-of-the-art televisions, while not as large as the movie screens you just spent the day watching, are quite impressively sized, and the pictures are so clear you may feel as if you are an extra on the set. More comfortable seating options will be found around the dining room tables and on the back decks; although they aren’t really meant for seating, the beds you will sleep in every night offer the ultimate in comfort, making you feel as if you are sleeping on a cloud.

Independent Films Aren’t for Everyone

The festival can be exciting on the merits of the stars who make their way to our mountain town, but we get it. Not everyone appreciates independent films, no matter what kind of star power they might offer, and if you want to watch the movies you do love in comfort and style, doing so at home in our Hollywood Hideaways can lead you to enjoy your own film festival, even though you probably won’t be able to watch 150 movies in the time you have to spend in Sedona. Some of our retreats will even offer theater rooms with even bigger screens than the ones on the generously sized televisions found throughout the house, bringing the story alive, just as happens in a real theater. And although there won’t be any memorial tributes in the guest suites or comedians performing live on the back patio, you can purchase virtual tickets to the Sedona International Film Festival for the events that interest you most.

A Feast for the Stars

If you do decide to throw your own “film festival” with your family, the second most important part of any event is the food and drinks being served. Our kitchens are beautiful spaces, luxuriously appointed with high-end appliances that will be a joy to use. Whether you decide to create an actual feast or just heat up a selection of frozen appetizers in the oven, you’ll be happy that you got to play a bit in this room. Stock wine refrigerators with your new favorite Arizona wines, whip up some frothy margaritas in the provided blenders, and make your kiddos virgin ones so they can join in the fun! The dining room is located just steps away, allowing you to gather round for a meal or load the table up with all the different appetizers you heated up and snack on throughout the evening.

The Luxe Life

Sedona is known for its magic and mysticism, and Sedona.Org is known for its luxury and style, making us a pretty good team, if we do say so ourselves. Luxury amenities will vary from house to house, but can include private pools, hot tubs on decks open to the sky, and outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, kitchens, and simple barbecue grills. Large yards may feature putting greens because every star needs a turn on the golf course, and hammocks, lounge chairs, or outdoor sofas tucked away in their own little niches. Some properties will offer decks on multiple levels, partitioned off into separate seating zones, with some bedrooms having their own private patio to lounge on. Watching the sun set behind the mountains, setting the red rock formations on fire, is one of life’s greatest luxuries, and these outdoor spaces are perfect for doing just that.

Dreaming About the Movies

The bedrooms of our Sedona sanctuaries are often the favorite spaces of everyone who resides within. Spacious and warm, in addition to the bed (the star of the show), guests may find separate seating areas that are ideal for enjoying the first cup of coffee in the morning, and in some of the homes, those seating areas may be found in front of a fireplace that will add warmth and romance to your stay. Ensuite baths will be spa-like spaces, offering deep tubs, steam showers or showers with multiple shower heads, and fluffy towels that always feel soft against your skin, never itchy or scratchy. Most bedrooms will feature their own televisions, somewhat smaller than the ones in the main living spaces, but after a long day of vacation activities, you may end up climbing between the covers, lying back against the pleasingly plump pillows, and drifting off into dreams about the movies you've been watching. It can be difficult to sleep in strange places, but in our bedrooms, a quiet vibe, premium beds topped with high thread count linens, and windows that frame the red rock formations beautifully but offer curtains that tightly close against the morning sun will all work together to give you the best night’s sleep of your life.

Where the Stars Are

This time we aren’t talking about the movie stars you may rub shoulders with during the Sedona International Film Festival. Sedona is a Dark Sky Community, and the stars shine brightly and plentifully in the skies above.
